The course duration of B.Ed has been extended to two years, for equipping students to take up jobs outside Kerala and India from the academic year 2015-16 onwards. The persons who pass B.Ed are now eligible to teach till SSLC level, but from the next academic year onwards those who pass B.Ed will be eligible to teach in Higher Secondary levels too. This will be done following the norms as set by NCT.
