Higher Secondary First year improvement examination has started on 27th of July 2017. The valuation of answer scripts of Plus One improvement exam will be held in all districts in the state in 2 phases so that the regular classes in schools will not be affected. The first phase of valuation camps will begin from 8th of August 2017. The subjects that come under the first spell are – English, Physics, Chemistry, Political Science, Accountancy etc. It has been planned to start the second spell of the Valuation camps of Plus One Improvement Exam in the third week of August. The other subjects – Mathematics, History, Economics, Business Studies, Computer Science / Computer Application, Botany and Zoology will be in this phase. Most probably, it may be from 16 th of August.
With a motto of strengthening knowledge and curriculum development to ensure quality education, the improvement exam is being conducted in the first term of the academic year. It may also enable the students to get rid of their fear and anxiety over exam. Moreover they can concentrate more on their second year portions further.
The results of the Plus one improvement exam being held in July 2017 are expected to be published in the first week of September 2017.
The students don’t have a clear idea on which one of the two marks obtained in public exam conducted in March or in improvement exam will be considered to be their score in the particular subject provided they score lesser marks in improvement exam than that of the March exam. They needn’t be tensed over this because the better of the two (the higher score of the two) only will be considered to be valid. If the score obtained in improvement exam is lesser, then the score obtained in March exam will be the marks, the student got in the particular subject.

Sir , what is the use of such so called "improvement exams" if we are not given any possibility of an improvement in our marks ?? Physics exam was too tough even for students who had A+ marks(like me) in March exam. Then what will be the conditions of the students who were below average and wrote this exam just to pass ?? I hope these improvement exams do not turn out to be a mere way of gaining money for the government.This should not turn out to be a waste of our money and so, Physics evaluation should be made liberal for the students... ReplyDeleteWell I have been going through all the comments posted above.... well I really liked how the physics question paper for the improvement exam turned out to be pretty tough....when I gave my physics qstn paper to my friends studying in CBSE they were like , Wow DUDE is this a qstn paper or a head ache maker ..... maybe it's time for the Kerala syllabus to be more like CBSE... Anyway congrats to those who have done an amazing job in making the qsntn and ruining the lives of many......

ReplyDeletesir,actually students who studied well are not getting good marks eventhough they write very well in exam.i think for kerala syllabus marks are given according to the teachers mood not according to the childrens efficiency..then what is the need of all these stuffs if students are not getting their marks... just think....in my class no one got above 70 for physics...one of my frnd applied for revaluation and for photocopy...she was the topper in our class for model exam...she has recieved photocopy of her physics paper and found out that first the mark was given then afterwards they just cut off the marks and put zero instead. so she got only 70 marks instead of 78.....this is an evident ri8?

DeleteIjas, u were ri8 that questions were based on our ncert text book. and i agree to your concept that there is no need for improvement examination. and i am the one who was against this improvement examination. i have scored 97% for final exam.i got only 70 for physics. not because of my fault,teacher who corrected our paper reduced our mark purposefully.because for the whole class physics marks were very poor. i had applied for revaluation and for photocopy. i have got my physics photocopy and i have found that i am eligible for 77 marks.finally, i considered this as my fate and wrote the physics improvement examination.i am going for entrance coaching and i know that problems from physics improvement examination questions paper were entrance questions. i am not regretting about the physics examination.exam was tough because the govt didnt trained us to solve such a type of questions. first of all the education system has to be changed before changing the examination system.
