Applications are invited by the Central Institute of Fisheries Nautical and Engineering Training for Bachelor of Fisheries Science (4 years), Vessel Navigator and Marine Fitter (2 years) courses.
The Nautical Science Programme of Cochin Science and Technology University is recognized by the Director General of Shipping. The course syllabus includes practical training in fishing boat too.
The applicants should have passed Plus Two with 50% of marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Maths. Equal weightage will be given to the entrance exam score to be conducted in June and the Plus Two score. The rank list will be prepared accordingly for admission.
There would be objective type questions in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Maths and English for admission test. Each right answer would be given one mark where as 1/4 mark would be reduced for each wrong answer. Kochi also will be one of the exam centres.
Training will be imparted in Navigator Course of 2 year duration, conducted as per Craftsman Training project of NCVT, Marine Fitter Courses, ship deck and engine trades. The students who have passed 10th standard with 40% of marks in Maths and Science too can apply. Entrance exam will be on 22nd June. Kochi too is an exam venue. The students doing the course would be getting Rs.1500/- as stipend.
