Thelima Project by National Service Scheme(HSS)
NSS cell of the Higher secondary department is coming forward to uplift the academic abilities of the students with the ‘Thelima' project. Its primary aim is to fill the gaps due to the online-offline classes. There are special classes all over the state in 56 centres under this project. The teachers would take more responsibility for night classes and simplified study notes would also be distributed.

The Aim
The major aims of this project are- Bring the socially disoriented to the fore front.
- Be a scaffolder to the academically poor children.
- NSS to make strong interventions in academic sector and thereby develop self esteem and responsibility in each volunteer.
- To make the volunteers aware of the possible contributions that can be done by them in the educational sector for the students' society.
Action Plan
Its action plan is to improve the results of the plus two students in the schools all over the state where the students are academically poor. Preference is for those at the coastal areas or of gothra community. One or more districts can be chosen. QIP schools in the state also can be included. Both offline and online classes can be given. Such classes can be arranged in the school concerned or at nearby centres.
Motivation classes also would be good for the development of their self confidence. Mentoring Like the teachers, the students also can become mentors. there can be a mentor for each 5 students and the real problem with students should be found out with the help of google form and the problems like learning difficulties, problems at home, getting isolated from friends etc be consolidated with the help of the programme officer. They should be familiarized with the frequently asked questions at free of cost.The learning strategies also be planned by the volunteers themselves.
Student teaching or the peer teaching should be encouraged. Also necessary help and support be given to all plans and schemes implemented by the PTA and LSG for producing better results in schools. A model exam should also be conducted.
With a special purpose and detailed plan of actions to be done, the ‘Thelima' project is in its endeavor to enhance the performance of academically weak students so as to bring out better results in such institutions.
Plus Two Focus area based Study Material by NSS Thelima
The study-friendly notes shall be
distributed to the students at free of cost. The necessary help can be
sought from the students and the teachers for the preparation of printed
notes. Each district should be ready to prepare note for two subjects.
The students should be taken to such confidence that the notes prepared
specially for them and given to them is more than enough for reaping
success in exam.
