Volunteering can give a lot of exposure to the Volunteers, as it assigns them tasks that benefit society as a whole. Volunteering gives volunteers the senses that they are involved in National Development - something worth putting effort into.
NSS gives participants the opportunity to practice their leadership skills and acquire other life skills, in essence to learn how to make a contribution at society. Experience in this NSS causes knowledge to build up in the mind of the volunteer and has a positive impact on their social perspective, creativity and attitude.
The programs they offer help you become more confident, proactive and self-respecting. They also work on personality development and help to build your character.
General Education(Higher Secondary Wing) Directorate of the State has 1396 NSS units with 139600 volunteers. Volunteers should do 240 hours of social service in 2 years, attend a camp of 7 days, and participate in national integration programs where they can attend conferences.
Here are the resources that will help NSS Program Officers conduct a seven-day special camp.
