Respected sunil sir, here in your note you constantly calls nomita a snob, but as an 12th grader by reading this whole story what i understand is nomita never forget her root, whenever ajith saw letter of her mother he shames her, make jokes about it, and she was also ashamed from the fact that her mother's misfortune were seen by the 28 members of her family. So as a human being(not because as a woman)she was ashamed, sha has self respect and dignity. She didn't say she willnot help her mother. In this story we can assume the character of ajith, so that she was repeately mocked by her own husband because of her own mother. She already told her mother there is no need of writing postcards. She will send money when she had. And the thing you misunderstood is actually her mother was exploiting her daugters sitation. She tried maximum for her benefits without thinking sir word about how her daughter is feeling and also it was not nomita's fault is to be beautiful and us married to a rich family. It was actuslly no use of saying nomita is once a common girl and now a vulgur girl such because she has some self respect. You will be okay and praise her if she dont speak one word about these actions literally that is the significance of this chapter. Hope you will understand you fault.
