The govt has given directions to form Internal Complaint Committee in all govt and aided institutions and offices to protect the female staff from atrocities against women. It is mandatory to constitute the committee in all offices with ten or more than ten people and the senior female staff should be the chair person.

Moreover, more than 50% of members must be female staff along with ward member or counsellor of the LSGD of the office location. It is also said that the help of legal experts can be sought for the redressal of complaints legally. Meeting should be conducted every two months once and minutes be kept. It should be ensured that such committees are formed in all offices under a department and steps be taken to constitute committees where it has not been formed yet.

As per the Sexual Harassment of women at work place (prevention, prohibition and redressal) Act 2003 it is the responsibility of the head of the institution to form internal committees in all govt, aided and private institutions where ten or more number of people are working there or else it would be considered as a crime and such offices will be levied a penalty of Rs. 50,000/-.
